Unique SonicWALL PortShield Architecture
The PRO 1260 features the unique SonicWALL PortShield architecture which provides the flexibility to configure all 24 LAN switch ports into separate security zones (PortShield groups), delivering protection not only from the WAN and DMZ, but also between devices inside the LAN.

Real-Time Gateway Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and Intrusion Prevention Support
The PRO 1260 integrates gateway anti-virus, anti-spyware and intrusion prevention support to secure networks from the core to the perimeter against a comprehensive array of dynamic threats including viruses, spyware, worms, Trojans, software vulnerabilities such as buffer overflows and spyware programs, as well as peer-to-peer and instant messenger applications, backdoor exploits, and other malicious code.

Powerful Deep Packet Inspection Firewall
The PRO 1260 features a configurable, high performance deep packet inspection firewall for extended protection to key Internet services such as Web, e-mail, file transfer, Windows services, and DNS.

Built-in 24-port Auto-MDIX Switch
The PRO 1260 features a wire-speed 24-port auto-MDIX switch that allows multiple home or office computers to network together at wire-speed.

Integrated Wireless LAN Services
In addition to being an integrated firewall and VPN security appliance, the PRO 1260 functions as a secure wireless switch and controller that automatically detects and configures SonicPoints, SonicWALL wireless access points, as they are added to the network while simultaneously enforcing security policies on all wired and wireless traffic.

Optional Port
The PRO 1260 includes an optional port that can be configured as a second LAN, a WLAN for distributed wireless, a second WAN for ISP failover or a demilitarized zone (DMZ) for public-facing servers or Internet resources.

ISP Failover
The SonicWALL PRO 1260 ensures continuous uptime for Internet and IPSec VPN connectivity by failing over to a second ISP link should the primary link fail. Through ISP Failover, the PRO 2040 delivers highly reliable network connectivity for constant access to critical data.

WAN Redundancy and Load Balancing
The SonicWALL PRO 1260 offers the ability to configure a secondary WAN port, delivering highly reliable network connectivity and robust performance. This secondary WAN port can be used in active-active load sharing or fail-over configuration providing a highly efficient method for maximizing total network bandwidth.

Object-based Management
The SonicWALL PRO 1260 provides the ability to define an object such as a user group, network address range, service or interface. When security policies change, the administrator can modify the pre-defined object and propagate the changes instantly without redefining rules, enabling businesses to implement and manage security policies easily and consistently.

SMTP RBL Spam Filtering
Provides the ability to use DNS to query Real-Time Black List (RBL) services that track well-known spam and open-relay SMTP servers, and to deny SMTP connections from servers that appear on the lists.
